Denison University was founded in 1831 with 20 students. Today, 1,950 full-time students representing 49 states and 30 foreign countries attend the College. Denison University has a full-time faculty of 190 with a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1. The two main campuses include 1,200 acres in Granville, and 250 acres in its main campus. The following Bachelor Degree programs are offered in B.A., B.S., and B.F.A: Social sciences, visual and performing arts, psychology, biological sciences, communications. Denison University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is a member of the Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA), The Five Colleges of Ohio , and the North Coast Athletic Conference.
The Ohio State University at Newark was founded in 1957 and currently has a student body of more than 2,100. The Ohio State University at Newark has 50 distinguished faculty members and offers the following programs: Accounting, Actuarial Science, Agri-Business and Applied Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Sciences, Anthropology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Criminology, Dentistry, Economics, Geomatics Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Marketing, Psychology, Welding Engineering, World Economy and Business, and Zoology.
