Licking County Libraries are comprised of the following 9 branches: Alexandria Public Library, Emerson Miller Branch Library, Granville Public Library, Hebron Branch Library, Homer Public Library, Johnstown Branch Library, Newark Public Library, Pataskala Public Library, and Utica Branch Library.

The Alexandria Public Library was opened on March 26, 1938 . Today this library offers the following services: Children's Programming, Adult Programming - Book Club; meets second Monday each month, Reference Service, Friends of the Library, On-Line Public Access Catalog, Word Processing software for use at the OPLIN computers, Meeting Room, Inter-Library Loans, Voter Registration - Forms available, Ellison Machine with dies for a variety of shapes, click for list, World-Wide-Web access via OPLIN computers, Photo Copy Machine, and Typewriter. . The library is staffed with a full-time director and children's services coordinator, five part-time clerks, one part-time technical service coordinator and two pages.

Newark Public Library has a variety of books ranging in subjects such as Topical Fiction, Romances, Mysteries, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Non-Fiction, and Westerns. Other reading materials include Best Sellers, Paperbacks, Magazines, Newspapers, Large Print Books, College Catalogs, and Pamphlets. Audio-Visual Materials include Audio Books, CD's, DVD's, Videos for hearing impaired, and Descriptive videos for visually impaired.

A Computer Catalog is available in each library. The public can use the Computer Catalog for all types of materials. This feature is available to the public on this Libraries website. Members of the library can find out which library has the item desired and what items are available for checked out. An inventory control system has been installed at the exits of some library locations. These sensors detect materials that have not been properly checked out. By using this system, fewer items are stolen, and more items are returned to the disposition of the public.
