Licking County is home to approximately 16 Fire Stations amongst these are the following: Granville Volunteer Fire Department Incorporated, Licking Township Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., The Licking County Emergency Management Agency, Mary Ann TWP Fire Department, National Trail Volunteer Fire Department, Heath Fire Department, Homer Volunteer Fire Department, Monroe Township Fire Department, Newark Fire Department, and West Licking Joint Fire District.

The Licking County Emergency Management Agency was established in 1988. The team consists of one Deputy Director, one Secretary/Office Manager, 12 EMA Volunteers and 35 Dive Rescue Volunteers. The primary goals of Emergency Management are to save lives and protect property by developing and putting into practice appropriate operational capabilities. In the face of disaster The Emergency Operations' Plan which is also known as the Bible is used when faced with an emergency/disaster. The Emergency Operations' Plan has input from Fire, rescue, health, medical, law enforcement, HAZ MAT experts.
