Licking County Humane Societies are the following 3: Homeward Bound Humane Society, Licking County Animal Shelter, and Second Chance Humane Society.

The Licking County Animal Shelter offers food and shelter to stray and unwanted animals. Animals are available for adoption to responsible homes and are required to be spayed or neutered. A two week trial basis program is offered at this facility for those who are looking to adopt an animal. If the pet is found with behavior or medical problems the Licking County Animal Shelter replaces or refunds the funds that where obtained to enquire the pet.

The Homeward Bound Humane Society (HBHS) is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to shelter, advocate, recruit homes, and promote quality care to the stray or unwanted animals of Licking County . This no-kill facility offers veterinarian care, spay/neuter, vaccines, food and socialization until each pet is adopted into a new loving home. The Homeward Bound Humane Society (HBHS) provides answers to questions about general pet care and Ohio laws regarding companion animals. In addition, HBHS offers schools the opportunity to incorporate the Kind News Program into their curriculums. The program stresses being kind to people, animals and the environment.
